Work Package 6 - Dissemination and stakeholder interaction

Objectives
  • To ensure the relevance and applicability of the project results via interactions with stakeholders (industry, authorities, NGOs).
  • To make the results of the project available via stakeholder workshops, a project website, brochures and reports.

This WP included co-ordination of the project dissemination and stakeholder oriented activities. Key stakeholders have been involved in all phases of the project to ensure the development of policy relevant results and workable solutions. The case study areas have been valuable arenas for communication and collaboration with WFD relevant stakeholders.

The general dissemination activities have included informal networking with key stakeholders, participation in seminars and conferences both on local and national level as well as on European level. The web site has served as a common platform for internal and external communication and will continue to be maintained to provide access to the Decision Support System.

SOCOPSE arranged a final conference in Maastricht in June 2009 and also s co-organised a session at the SETAC-conference in Gothenburg in May 2009.  Briefing notes presenting the main project results was distributed at the final conference and can be down loaded under Project output. A synthesis report will also shortly be published here.
